open theists do not deny that God’s knowledge is coextensive with reality. What they deny is that the future is entirely definite; it cannot, therefore, be exhaustively known.24 At the same time, open theists have an exalted view of God’s intelligence. According to Boyd, God’s perspective on the future encompasses the entire range of possibilities, and he sees each one as clearly as if it there were no alternatives.25 Consequently, God not only knows what cannot fail to come to pass, he knows what
